Volunteer Details: Volunteering at Alameda Hospital operates through the Alameda Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary. Since the Auxiliary’s inception in 1954, members have donated more than one million hours of service, and many volunteers have been with the Auxiliary from the start. Over the years, through Gift Shop proceeds and fundraisers, the Auxiliary also has graciously donated more than $1 million to Alameda Hospital. |

Volunteer Details: The Volunteer Services Department of LAC+USC Medical Center serves the need for volunteers medical center wide. The Director of Volunteer Services works in collaboration with many hospital administrators, who have recognized the value of ancillary services, to create and operate a viable patient service delivery component for the medical center. In an effort to meet the needs of the predominately economically disadvantaged patient population of General Hospital, many special programs have been established to help provide patients with services. Because of the varied backgrounds of patients, an emphasis has been placed on meeting the needs of the culturally diverse patient population. Volunteers come from many different cultural backgrounds and speak a variety of languages. Each of these volunteers contributes significantly to the improvement of the environment of care for the patients receiving medical treatment. |

Volunteer Details: The Kaweah Delta Hospital Guild was founded in 1956, and has been going strong ever since. To date, the Guild has volunteered over two million service hours, and donated about the same amount of money. The money donated is used to purchase patient care equipment for the hospital. |

Volunteer Details: Established in 1924, our volunteer program is an important part of the hospital's heritage. Volunteers work in a variety of ways to achieve their mission, which is "to render service to the hospital and its patients, and assist the hospital in promoting the health and welfare of the community." Currently, 300 active volunteers working in 18 areas of the hospital have donated more than 500,000 hours of their time. Our volunteers have raised nearly $2.5 million for the hospital. |
