Volunteer Information: Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary is an all-volunteer, non-profit corporation serving the communities of Oceanside, Vista, and Carlsbad since 1958. More than 50 Junior Volunteers, 75 Student Volunteers, 265 Senior Volunteers, and 15 volunteer therapy dogs work in over 40 areas throughout the hospital. The Auxiliary raises funds through its gift shop, events, and private donations. In 2016 the Auxiliary donated $70,100 to the Tri-City Hospital Medical Center and awarded $155,500 in scholarships through the Auxiliary Scholarship Program.. Volunteer Programs: Senior Volunteers; Junior Volunteers
Volunteer Placements/Services: Clerical (Auxiliary Office); Courtesy Shuttle; Customer Relations; Emergency Department; Employee Health; Escort Service; Gift Shop; Greeters; Imaging; Intensive Care; Laboratory; Maternal Child Care; Reception; Registration; Rehab; Surgery; Telecare; Telemetry; Volunteer Patient Advocates; Workshop; Tri-City Wellness Center (off-campus)
Application Process: Senior Volunteer Requirements: Men, women, college, and high school students 18 years of age and older; Attend an orientation; Submit information for a background check (provided by hospital); No court ordered community service; Yearly TB test is required and is provided by hospital. (new applicants will have two TB tests); Yearly seasonal flu shot is required and is provided by hospital; Dues of $15 per year; Purchase of uniform ($15-$20); Adhere to the rules and regulations of Tri-City Medical Center and Auxiliary; Volunteer at least 100 hours per year. Junior Volunteer Requirements: Age 15 - 18 (must be no older than 17 to start); Enrolled in school ( grades 9 through 11 to start); Attend an orientation; One time dues of $10; TB test (provided by hospital); Flu shot during flu season (provided by hospital); Purchase of uniform ($20); Volunteer a minimum of 6 hours per month; No court ordered community service.
