Volunteer Information: We invite you to help make a difference in the lives of our patients and families by becoming a volunteer at University of Minnesota Medical Center and University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and out of high school.. Volunteer Placements/Services: C.H.I.L.D. - Daycare; Children’s and Adolescent Mental Health Unit; Emergency Department (ED); Guest Services Volunteer; Pediatric Clinics; Pediatric Family Resource Center (FRC); Pediatric Unit Volunteer; Project Read; Pet Visitation; Special Events Assistant; Surgery Family Lounge; Electroconvulsive Therapy; Emergency Department; Guest Services; Hand Massage; Inpatient Pharmacy; Nursing Unit; Office Assistant; Patient Visitor; Pet Visitation; Retail Pharmacy; Sterile Processing & Distribution (SPD); Transitional Services
Application Process: Every prospective volunteer must complete the following application process: 1. Read the instructions and complete the online application form. 2. Provide two personal references from people who are not related to you. 3. Complete new volunteer online orientation and training. 4. Complete a health assessment with Employee Occupational Health Services. 5. Complete a one-on-one interview with a volunteer coordinator. 6. Pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, as currently mandated by the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services. This may include traveling to an off-site location for fingerprinting.
