Volunteer Information: There are many reasons St. Luke's Hospital has such a strong corps of volunteers. Some volunteer for the opportunity to meet new people and feel connected to the community. Others want to be connected to a healthcare environment to explore careers and learn new skills. Many find fulfillment and purpose in giving of their expertise for the good of others. For more than 50 years, St. Luke's Hospital has attracted volunteers from all walks of life. We are always looking for new volunteers ages 14 years and up. Application Process: 1. Areas of interest: Review the list of Volunteer Opportunities. Note the areas that interest you. 2. Fill out an application: Call St. Luke's Volunteer Office at (319) 369-7213 to request an application via mail. Download the application or Complete our online volunteer application form. We will contact you by e-mail or mail with further information after we receive your application. 3. Schedule an interview: A Volunteer Services staff member will contact you to schedule an interview. They will want to talk about your experience and interests, your reasons for wanting to volunteer and the times you are available to volunteer. 4. Meet standard health requirements: If you and the St. Luke's staff member feel volunteering in a hospital setting would be the right fit for you, you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire and take an annual tuberculosis test. 5. Orientation: After you have been offered a position as a volunteer and have met health requirements you will be asked to attend an orientation that will introduce you to volunteering in a hospital.
