Volunteer Programs: ADULT Volunteer Program; TEEN Volunteer Program
Volunteer Placements/Services: Clerical - Copying, filing, data entry, answering phones and greeting clients. General time commitment is once a week for four hours; Mail Delivery/Department Runner - Morning and afternoon pick-up and delivery of interoffice mail to various departments. Time commitment is about six hours once a week; Gift Shop - Assist with stocking items, helping customers, operating a cash register and straightening merchandise. General time commitment is once a week for four hours; Copy Center- Copying, collating, stapling and laminating. Shift times are flexible and require a minimum of four hours once a week; Public Interaction- Greet visitors, patient family members and friends entering the hospital. Duties include giving directions and assisting patients and family members as they begin the registration process. Time commitment depends on the specific assignment.
Application Process: Here are the steps required to become a Hendricks Regional Health volunteer: Application - can be done securely online; Interview - a 30 to 40 minute interview will be conducted with the director of Guest & Volunteer Services to determine your interests and availability, and to discuss available opportunities; Limited criminal history check; Health assessment including annual flu vaccination unless there is a legitimate medical contraindication (documentation required); Commitment to your volunteer assignment as scheduled for a specified time frame (to be discussed during the interview); Orientation and training - required education that must be completed prior to starting your volunteer opportunity
