Volunteer Information: Baptist Health Floyd's volunteer program began in 1963 when the Red Cross sent nine volunteers to what was then Memorial Hospital of Floyd County to help staff the information desk. Since then, the program has grown to include over 200 active volunteers who donated more than 33,000 hours to the hospital last year. Volunteers at Baptist Health Floyd assist staff, act as patient representatives and can also serve as advocates for patients' families through the Family Advocate Program, which gives a patient's family a consistent person to report to and gather information about a hospitalized loved one. .
