Volunteer Information: Hello and welcome to McLaren Bay Region, how may I help you? This may be how you are acknowledged by a volunteer once you walk through the doors of the hospital. It is our expectation that our volunteers, patients and visitors feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe at our facilities. Volunteer Placements/Services: Gift Shop East and West Campuses, Administration, Blood Drives, The Chapel, Patient Access, Emergency Department, Ambulatory Surgery, Medical Library, Information Desk, Surgery Lounges, Courtesy Van Drivers, Ladies Auxiliary, Pre-procedure Holding, Graduate Medical Education, Special Projects, Bay Heart & Vascular, Marketing and Public Relations, Cardiac Rehab, Foundation Office, McLaren Bay Special Care, Women's Health, Rehabilitative Services, Human Resources, Employee Occupational Health Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Patient Accounts
Application Process: If you have decided to share your time to assist patients and help others at McLaren Bay Region, your next step is to complete an online application. Once your application is received, we will review current volunteer openings and determine if any align with your interests and availabilities. We will contact you if there is a match. If a match is not identified, we will keep your application on file for six months. If a match is identified, you will be contacted for an interview. We will check the references listed on your application and conduct a background check. If you are selected to be a volunteer at McLaren Bay Region, you will need to: Be 15 years of age or older and have a completed volunteer consent form (persons under 17 years of age must have a working permit); Be in good physical and mental health without communicable health conditions; Have documentation of a negative TB skin test completed within the previous 12 months or we will provide testing; Have documentation of receipt of the current annual seasonal Flu Vaccine for October through March of the current year (excluding summer months May-September). Once you have been cleared through this initial process, the next steps will be to complete the hospital orientation and obtain an identification badge and any special apparel or uniform required for you position. We will make sure you are oriented to our organization and receive appropriate training for your assignment.
