Volunteer Details: Give the Gift of Time Volunteers provide a special gift to the community and to our patients, visitors, employees and physician community. Volunteers of all ages are utilized to assist our staff in a variety of capacities based on individual qualifications and areas of interest. Our volunteers are valued members of our team and in appreciation OVMC and EORH provides volunteers with a uniform, free parking, a complimentary meal, inclusion in hospital activities and educational workshops. In addition, OVMC and EORH honor their volunteers during National Volunteer week with a special recognition luncheon. What do Volunteers do? There are many volunteer service placements available in both patient care areas and non-patient care areas. Some volunteer opportunities include: greeting patients in admitting and registration, escorting patients, offering refreshments via our coffee cart, assisting staff with clerical duties, stocking and delivering supplies, working in the gift shop, and visiting patients. Junior Volunteers Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital offer a Junior Volunteer program. Juniors must be at least 14 years of age by June 1 or be entering into their freshman year of high school. Our Junior Volunteer program is a great way for teenagers to donate their time by serving the community and gaining valuable experience in developing future career paths. The best time to apply is in March or April before the summer you plan to volunteer. The teen will complete an interview in the spring and must attend orientation in early June. Volunteer Details: Volunteering at West Virginia University Hospitals is your chance to be someone who makes a difference by helping others.Volunteers have the opportunity to learn, explore health careers, make new friends, develop new skills, and – most of all – enjoy the satisfaction that comes from helping others.WVU Hospitals accepts three types of volunteers: Juniors (age 14-18), college students and adults.The only immunization/test administered to Junior Volunteers by Employee Health is a TB test. Junior Volunteers must obtain any necessary immunizations from their medical provider. |

Volunteer Details: Greenbrier Valley Medical Center Auxiliary are wonderful people volunteer their time everyday of every week to help the patients, doctors and employees at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center with various duties. The program consists of volunteering one day a week or more, if the need arises. As a volunteer you might register patients, give directions to visitors, work in the gift shop, or transport patients to various areas of the hospital. You will see these volunteers as you enter the front lobby, outpatient surgery, and registration wearing their pink jackets. |
