Volunteer Information: Santiam Memorial Hospital’s Auxiliary began before the hospital was constructed as groups of women in sewing circles. In those days, Auxiliary members made the bedding, baby necessities, garments and draperies for much less money than their purchase price. During hospital construction, women provided full course meals at night for the men soliciting donations.The Auxiliary continues today as the hospital’s primary fundraiser, investing in hospital advancements including equipment purchases and remodels..
