Volunteer Information: Volunteers and interns are an important part of our commitment to world-class healthcare and our goal of "extending healing through the ministry of Christ." These individuals contribute greatly to creating the ideal patient experience at Florida Hospital Celebration Health, working right alongside our staff in their daily assignments. Best of all, we have an opportunity available to meet virtually any schedule you'd like to work. Since the hospital operates around the clock, we can match your skills and interests with the ideal position, whether it means helping lost visitors find their way or ringing up sales in the gift shop. As a volunteer, you get to use your unique skills and your gift of time and energy to help others in need. On a deeper level, you can reflect on the mindfulness and compassion of Christ's healing ministry through your own volunteerism. Plus, it never hurts to get some valuable work experience in healthcare, while you meet lifelong friends along the way. If you are pursuing an education in healthcare, you may be eligible to participate in one of our many internships. Volunteer Placements/Services: Patient Experience Ambassadors, Music Therapy, General Clerical , Guest Services Ambassador / Concierges, Pet Therapy, Nursing Unit Assistant, Nutritional Services, Trolley, Transportation, Emergency Department Patient Experience Ambassador, Lab Team Assistant, Imaging Team Assistant, Gift Shop, Joint Replacement Center (Physical Therapy)
Application Process: The first step to becoming a volunteer is to attend an ORIENTATION SESSION. These 1.5 hour sessions are held from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, once a month. You will need to contact us at 407-303-4463 to find out the exact date of the upcoming sessions. No reservations are needed. The doors will open at 3:30pm and each session is limited to the first 50 people who arrive. You must be at least 16 years of age. Parental consent will be required for anyone under age 18. You must volunteer for a minimum of 100 hours. Most volunteers come in for one 4 hours shift each week, so you would reach 100 hours in six months. Background checks will be completed on all volunteers and interns. Upon acceptance into our volunteer program, volunteers are sent for a drug screening and a TB test (paid for by Florida Hospital). Prospective volunteers must provide proof of vaccinations for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, and Chicken Pox. Volunteers that are not immune will be responsible for obtaining the necessary vaccinations prior to their start date. Following orientation you will schedule a personal interview at the campus. You will need to bring two (2) letters of recommendation with you to that interview.
