Volunteer Information: Our mission is to support Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Denali Center and the continuum of care. More than 100 volunteers perform a wide range of services in nearly all areas of the facility benefiting patients, residents, employees and visitors. Whether you are interested in volunteering to gain experience or to give back to your community, we would love to have you as part of our team. Our volunteers play a valuable role in providing excellent patient and resident care to our family and friends in the community. Our volunteers range in age from 14 to 90 years old.. Volunteer Placements/Services: Gift Shop; Mini Library; Denali Center; Various Special Projects, mostly clerical
Application Process: 1. Application screening; 2. Verification of references; 3. Background check; 4. Fingerprinting (17 years of age and older, conducted at volunteer orientation); 5. Informal interview with the Volunteer Services director or coordinator to determine your interests, training and availability; 6. Participation in an orientation where confidentiality, dress code and safety information are reviewed; 7. Proper uniform and ID badge; 8. Complete necessary health screenings through Foundation Health Partners Occupational Health; 9. Placement based on preferences and schedule. Every effort is made to provide you with a rewarding volunteer experience.
