Volunteer Information: Volunteer opportunities are available through the Debbie-Rand Memorial Service League, Inc. The purpose of the League is to coordinate all volunteer services, to raise funds and to initiate beneficial activities in support of the not-for-profit Boca Raton Regional Hospital.. Volunteer Placements/Services: Bingo; Direct Admit; Cardiac Rehabilitation Center; Coffee Shop; Education Dept.; Emergency Services and Care Center; Endoscopy; Flowers & Newspaper Delivery; Gift Shop; Health Information Management; Intensive Care Unit; IV Outpatient Therapy; Medical Library; Medical Imaging Center; Nursery; Nursing Service Assistant; Surgical Center Waiting Room; Tram; Transportation; Volunteer Services (Escort, Transportation and Courier); Radiation and X-Ray; Radiation Oncology; Women’s Center
Application Process: Adult volunteers (over the age of 18): Complete Application; Complete the Universal Background Release Form and bring it with you to your scheduled orientation. When you complete the online application, you will be prompted to sign-up for an upcoming orientation. Should you need to re-schedule your orientation date, please call the Auxiliary Office at: 561-955-4098. The orientation is a group session which is generally held the second Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the Boca Regional Education Center. The Education Center is a free standing building located at the west side entrance to the hospital near the Emergency Department. Please bring a photocopy of your driver's license (or other photo identification) and your social security number. Orientation attendance does not guarantee acceptance or placement into the D-RMSL volunteer program. Following the orientation, we will call you to schedule an interview. At that time we will discuss your interests and availability to volunteer. You will also be asked for $35.00 paid by check or cash. This covers your annual membership dues ($10.00) and uniform ($25.00); Teenage Volunteers: Step 1: Complete an application. Step 2: Please bring the following documents, to the Volunteer Office. Only Character reference letters on school stationery, company stationery or personal stationery, from anyone not a family member, will be accepted. Copy of your most recent report card. It must reflect at least a 2.5 GPA, from your last term. Completed Authorization Form. A copy of an ID (driver’s license, school ID, or a passport). $25.00 cash or check (preferred), for your dues and uniform jacket. If after the interview, the teenager is selected to participate in the program, the TAV will be invited to the next orientation. Orientations are normally held twice a year. The dress code for all volunteers is as follows: blue uniform jacket with khaki or white pants and white or conservative shoes (no sandals or high heels).
